Midrib is a coffee project rooted in land, lineage, and ritual.

This first release is sourced through family in Ethiopia in collaboration with Shone Coffee, a producer working within the landscapes and traditions that have shaped coffee for generations.

Imported to Oklahoma in a small, direct shipment, this coffee moves along a shortened path—from origin to roasting to sharing—without losing its connection to where it comes from.

Midrib is not only about coffee as a product, but coffee as a medium.

It exists at the intersection of:

• culture

• and artistic practice

Through this work, coffee becomes a way of thinking about:

• how knowledge is passed

• how relationships are sustained

• and how everyday rituals hold deeper meaning

The name Midrib refers to the central vein of a leaf—the structure that carries water, nutrients, and life through the plant.

In the same way, this project is about connection:
between land and people,
between Ethiopia and Oklahoma,
between tradition and contemporary practice.

Each batch is part of an ongoing body of work that includes photography, film, and community-based gatherings—where coffee is prepared and shared as a form of presence, care, and exchange.
